My YT6800 starter

My mowers starter does not work well at all.  When I go to start it the starter motor just clicks.  I have bought a new battery and made sure that it has a full charge.  All connections are tight and clean.  After I try multiple time it might engage and start.  Other times I have to try for hours, letting it rest in between 5 minute starting attempts.  It does always start but what a pain.  I think the starter motor is bad and am looking to replace it.  Any suggestions on where to go to find the starter?

I have a 6800 also with starter problems but mine is a bad bendix. Does anyone know who supplies them? Your problem sounds like the solenoid has dirty or bad contacts. Sometimes a good wack with a screwdriver butt will shake some of the dirt off of the contacts and allow it to work. However new contacts or solenoid will make it a permanent repair.I am actively searching for a new bendix or starter and will post any info I get. New from Yamaha via Japan is $585.00 WOW!! Must be and alternative out there.
