YT 6700 mower

ArtM
Greetings all! I just picked up a YT 6700 mower in great shape but I got it with no paperwork whatsoever. Does anyone know how to tell what year it is? Maybe from the serial number or something?
Also, if anyone knows of a side-bag attachment that is available for it that would be handy as well !

Welcome to the Yamaha Forum and Congrats on your new/old tractor.
From my research, the 6700 was only made in 1990. I would highly reccomend getting a
service manual. There is a post called "Fast Moving Parts" which has a link to where you can get one.
Baggers are hard to come by, unless you can pick up a used one from somebody.
Good Luck with it.

Sure sounds line me.   No paperwork, what did I buy
Some great help on this site but I'm beginning to think there are not too many 6700's around. After doing some research on the net I'm finding that once these machines are discontinued they are left in someones barn to rust
If you are mechanically inclined and keep up a maintenance schedule you should have years of life from hat baby. The bright side is that you have a steel machine that can take a pounding, not a plastic case that cracks on the first encounter with a low branch.
Good luck.
PS, Ratt... typo on the original cost of the Yamahas. Here is the flyer.

Isn't the 6700 a 17hp engine? According to the ad, it is 18hp?

6700 is an 18hp, the 5700 was a 16hp, with a 42" deck
3-YT3600's, 2-YT 6800's, 1-YT6700 for parts.
