Has anyone had any experience with replacing the 2 pulleys on the front of the tractor? part number JA1-52432-10-00
I rescued my tractor from a warehouse and it was mostly in good shape but as soon as the PTO is engaged the belt and deck shakes like crazy. Took the blades off thinking it may have been a balance issue but no change. I took apart the deck to check everything, spindles and pulleys all spin freely, could use some new bearings but that will be another day's project. I noticed that the two tensioner pulleys (on the mule drive?) were bent and dented badly and I'm pretty sure they are the culprit for the vibrations. After doing a search I found that these pulleys are obsolete.
Is there any direct replacements or cross reference number for these pulleys or am I doomed to waiting for a used set to pop up? From what I can tell the ones on my tractor have 12mm bearing ID, 120mm pulley OD and the belt looks like 5/8" wide or close to it. I would think there are some other tractor out there that have similar pulleys that i might be able to throw a bushing in?
Thanks! First post, but i've read through most of the other threads and appreciate all the info and posts on this site!
Following up -- I decided to order a few new pulleys and they have made it through 2 mowing sessions without issue. Hopefully they last a while. I went with a Fenner Drives idler pulley and bushing. Part number VA4002 and RB0071. The OD is slightly smaller than the original but the belt stays on without a problem. Also the pulley is thermoplastic instead of steel.
