YT3600 speed increase

I am new to this forum and the YT3600. I recently purchased a YT3600 with no deck to use around the farm to pull a farm cart and my question is-
Is there any way to manipulate or adjust the transmission linkage to get an increase in ground speed? the distances I have to cover would make this effort worthwhile. Also another question just popped up, my unit surges in all RPM ranges and this problem won't correct with needle adjustment. The surge stops when I run partial choke which suggests it's a fuel delivery issue. Does anyone have suggestions to remedy this? Is a carb kit available?

These tractors are not very fast, I don't believe you can tweak them other than turning the engine speed up. That will trash the motor. The surging is most likely a dirty carb. Try seafoam or just clean it.

    There is a speed adjustment on the transmission on the 6800. I was able to gain a couple MPH on mine, I don't know why there wouldn't be one on the 3600.

   These pictures are of a transmission and hydrostatic drive from a 6800. The close up picture is of the two bolts for adjusting speed. Just loosen the nuts, back off the bolts and the re-tighten the nuts. This is attached to linkage connected to your forward and reverse shifter.
