If you still have your old cover, I'm assuming the tabs are broken? If so, simply drill a series of holes in about 1/8".

I only have the plate that attaches to the carb. The person who I purchased it from lost the cover. Seems it is unavailable but was hoping to find someone parting a motor out that would sell it to me. The tractor is in excellent running condition and a shame.

My mistake, its the base that gets messed up. I'll check for a cover, be patient with me,

Let me know if you get info on where to get parts also.  I have a 1986 YT 6800 that I am looking for parts for..
I just replaced the drive belt with a 1/2 inch by 86” belt that worked perfectly.

Speaking of the 3 blades for a YT6800.  If you cannot find them for a Yamaha because most places do not have them.  Is there a substitute blade for another mower that will fit and do the job?
Thanks.

The following blades work PERFECTLY

Stens P/N 315-018    ( Dixon  539119863 )  11/16 hole  16-29/32  (17") Long

I nstalled a set on my YT6800 Mower deck yesterday and mowed. Lawn looks great.

Thank you so much for the part number and specs.  I found it on Amazon. 👍🏻
Quick question.  The 6800 has 3 blades.  Is the middle one a different size?  It looks slightly smaller? Or are all three the same size?
Thank you again for your help.  I’ll be installing for the first time.  Any hints to make it easier?

Jam a 2x4 or something between the outer blade and deck to keep them from moving while turning the blade nut.
Might want to get PB Blaster or equivalent oil on the nut if they haven't been off for a long time. I always had problems with the center blade nut coming off, was very stubborn!
Nice find, Mike on the Stens cross-over part #
