Bigfoot,
I believe there are discussions about this in older posts. Do a search for "valves" or "lash" settings in the forums and you may find the answer.
OK I've seen 2 different peeps in old answers on adjusting the valves Eric L posted may 25 2013 that he set them at .004 although never said is that Sae or mm most bolts on Yamaha are metric on feeler gage you have
.004 on top n bottom is 0.010 mm
then headcase on june 14,2011 posted that both intake and exhaust is 0.0031 - 0.0047 n these settings sound to be pretty wide so I guess Im going have see if they make a feeler gage this wide
Ive tried setting valves both to .004 @ TDC and motor turns over really hard
hey rattosh51 this sasquatch theres no .08 or .12 mm on feeler gages theres .008 in. which is 0.20mm and .012 in. which is 0.30mm
I got my mower running by splitting the diff between 0.0031 - 0.0047 and setting my valves an had go buy a different gage 1 that has .015in. which is in metric or mm 0.38 mm mower started rite up an I mowed yard after changing the filter an oil
