I have 2 YT6800's, they are both is good condition, but after washing one, it would not start, turns over good, gets spark but just wont run, so I bought another one, which I intended to use for parts, but I ended up just using it, and figured I would get around to getting the other one to run. I just recently broke the PTO belt on the one I'm using so I figured I would just take the belt off the other one, and so I took off the deck, and took off the PTO belt, put it on the other one and for some reason it got shredded after just about 10 minutes of use, after comparing the belts, they are different lengths, I think the PTO belt is suppose to be 67 inches, and the one belt is 67 inches, but the one I took off the non running one was about an inch shorter, it did go on, but I did notice it was pretty tight, given that I have not ever had to change any belts on either one before I was not thinking they would have different length belts, I am guess that someone just had the deck adjusted to the length of the belt they were using, as you can adjust the deck position. Anyways, I used the first mower for about 3 years with no problems at all with the PTO belt, in fact that mower was and still is in better condition then the one I'm using. I washed it after using it, like I always did, and it never started again, after trying everything I could think of, and even bringing it to a Yamaha dealership that said it was the rotor, which I bought one, and tried, but it didn't fix it, I just bought another one cuz I liked how these mowers ride, cut, and just different. But now I am thinking about selling both of them, as I am moving out of state, and just have too much stuff as it is to move, and these are very heavy.
I live in Michigan, and like I said I had to buy another one, which I bought from New Hampshire, which I had freight shipped for $280.00, which wasn't bad for 850 miles. Not sure what it would cost to have 2 shipped to Ohio, but I'm sure it would be less than $300.00.
I would sell the deck alone also. It has been sitting in my barn for about 8 years now, and just this week I took off the deck and noticed that the pulleys wouldn't spin, so I sprayed them with some WD 40, and some other lubricates and got them to rotate. The deck is in better shape then the one I'm using, and actually was thinking about putting it on the one I'm using, but with all the adjustments and giving that it was set up for a shorter PTO belt, I figured I would just keep using the one that is already set up for the mower I'm using.
Not sure what it would cost to have just the deck shipped, but I'm sure it be around $100.00-$200.00. It does not have blades, but I do have some blades that are pretty worn that I could put on it, other then that its all complete, just needs to be used to loosen up the pulleys.
I would like to sell both together to someone that really appreciates these mowers.
I am buying new blades this week and a new PTO belt, and of course I gave the one a oil change, and changed the PTO fluid, and Trans fluid, and rear end fluid this spring as I have done so each year for the past 8+ years and even grease the deck pulleys which most people don't even know about, and now that I think about it, I bet If I greased up the pulleys on the other deck, it would help get them to rotate better, in fact I will do that this week as well.
The grease fittings are under the deck and hard to spot if your not looking for them. That might be why yours broke, as I said, most people don't even know about them.
I do have a trailer, and could maybe transport if you were to buy both.
Anyways, shoot me a reply if interested, and we can discuss prices.
Thanks and good luck
