I've been looking for one of these for a while, this is going to be the primary machine so I can relegate my worn out Craftsman to backup/mowing stuff I shouldn't be mowing. It was free and has 3800 hours now so it doesn't owe me anything. I also significantly downsized on yard recently so I won't be cutting for 4 hours at a time anymore.
I used to wrench at the former Yamaha dealer who actually sold this one new, we had a nos self propelled mower of the same era in the attic of the shop but I never could get the boss to sell it to me.

I think I did not bad for $300 Canadian.
Runs perfectly, just need to put some new bearings in the deck.
Original tires and blades on it.

Looks good...
I saw one of those self-propelled mowers once in a picture...very rare indeed.
Contact member cr250 for some blades...I think he still has some.

I'm a very long way from Toronto. Approx 3 hours northwest of Thunder Bay.
It just needed new bearings on the main drive hub, which are just common snowmobile bearings. Been enjoying quietly cutting the grass for a while now.
It'll probably need a new drive belt for next season but I haven't even had to sharpen the blades yet.
