YT 6800 value

BadMoose
Hi, Im looking at a YT 6800, unable to start it do to it needs a battery.

At the very least would be a parts machine, I have a hard time buying something I can not test, what would something like this be worth?

Thank you for any help

i bought mine for 400 a couple years ago but mine ran well. i have never seen a garden tractor or mower that is as well built as one of these and i have been mowing for 25 years. i also  have a 2 year old troy built and it cannot compare with this yamaha. i just hate to get off the yamaha and use the troy built. these mowers are very old now and you have to be able to troubleshoot some of the problems that pop up.pay attention to the electrical connections as they will have corrosion on them and funny things will happen. just clean them very good.the yamaha is like a caddy and the others are like a chevy aveo.  btw i have an aveo.

Not worth much...bring a new battery with you and try it out. Don't take anyone's word that "it ran well last time I used it".
That could be any number of years ago.
As you said-it's a non-running parts machine...only worth a couple hundred bucks, but invaluable if you already have one.
Parts are scarce, all it comes down to.

Thanks,

If I could get it for a $100, I might take it, but he is sticking to his bottom line of $600. That's just is a tad steep for me

I just picked up a new Yt6800 at auction for $450.  It definitely runs.  Kinda bought it sight unseen, but it appears to be in pretty good shape.  Maybe I get skinned on the deal, maybe I get lucky.  Never know.  I didn't really need the mower since I already have a Toro ZT, but thought it would be nice to have a tractor to town things around the hilly yard I have.

If I change my mind and resell it, is what I paid about the current market value?  I'm in MN.

A good running YT6800 is worth $450 +, it depends on condition and maintenance.
3-YT3600's, 2-YT 6800's, 1-YT6700 for parts.

The guy would not bend, told me if it didn't sell for what it was worth, he wasn't going to sell it.
He did take his ad down, so maybe he did sell it.

Not to many Yamaha riding mowers for sale around me, so I'm just going to keep my Kubota and rebuild the the deck, it's about 5x the lawn tractor I need but will get the job done all the same
